Hi there! Welcome to my little corner of cyberspace. Pour yourself a cup of coffee. Maybe a glass of wine. Make yourself comfortable. Kick off your shoes. Stay a while.

In case it's not glaringly obvious, my name is Tracy Eliott.

At this point, I guess you want to know a little bit about me. Unfortunately for both of us, I hate writing about myself. I once actually turned in a bio that way - faxed it over to the coordinator with just the words "hates writing bios". Perhaps because she had a sense of humor - or perhaps because she didn't - it went into the program just like that.

But I digress.

I was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana and have only been here in La-La land since fall of 2000. (No, I don't miss Mardi Gras. Or Jazz Fest. No, native New Orleanians don't speak with the generic drawl you hear on TV. And we don't actually say "N'Awlins", unless we're kidding around. Our food, however, kicks butt, and that, I miss.)

So how did I get from there to here?

I suppose the more accurate question might be: "Did you always know you wanted to be an actor?" I don't think it actually occurred to me until high school - but apparently it was obvious to those around me ...given that my mother nicknamed me "Sarah Bernhardt" as a toddler.

The truth is, I grew up being primed to pursue music. Piano lessons began when I was in the 2nd grade, and by high school, I was pretty good. Good enough that my teacher of nearly all those years wanted to see me attend NOCCA, the local arts high school (think "Fame"). She handed me a booklet about the school and encouraged me to consider the music program.

But you know what? I was a good musician ...but not great. I was technically sound, but lacked ...depth. Soul. Style. The ability to truly make a piece of music my own. And I knew this, by the tender age of 13.

I dutifully took the booklet home and immediately flipped to the theatre department and read up on it - what was required to apply and audition, and what the three years would consist of. Voice and speech. Movement. Dance. Shakespeare. Monologues, scene study, theatre history, mime and clown skills...

Yeah, that's pretty much where it started. Three years of NOCCA (and during those years - my first play, my first commercial, my first industrial film), followed by four years of college at the University of New Orleans ...throwing me out into the world wondering: Now what?

I did a lot of theatre in New Orleans - saw a lot of theatre companies start (and an equal number fail). I worked constantly - community theatre, dinner theatre, semi-professional theatre ...whatever I could get. And getting an agent (several agents - NO is a different world), and auditioning (and booking!). Oh yeah, and working a full-time day-job. All the while considering my day job the career and the acting the hobby. (I know, I know - what was I thinking?)

Until one day ...it all just clicked. Or maybe snapped? In any case, I knew I had it backwards. And I knew I couldn't get my priorities straight in a town like New Orleans, with one Equity house and the majority of film roles in my age range being for hookers and strippers ...well, the work just wasn't there.

So with that, I decided I was going to move to New York! I love NY ...the energy of the city feeds me ...I fell in love with it the first day I was there. Well, OK, the second day. The first day I was a little overwhelmed. But that second night ...40 degrees (in April) and raining, but there I was walking -WALKING - down Broadway from my first off-Broadway play ...all by myself ...and loving it. Yep, no question, New York was the town for me.

...and then I got distracted by about 3000 miles and wound up here. (I could explain that, but frankly it's not nearly as interesting as if I just leave it to your imagination.) In any case, I'm not complaining - the weather, the beach ...my life. Wouldn't trade it for anything.

Here I am.
I'm also here.

All right, that's enough of me babbling. Go check out the rest of my site. Drop me and email and say hi. Or hey - send me an e-mail to set up an appointment.
